Saviour of Souls
Out now

In this galaxy, hope has been lost. Exploring the cosmos has left us weary and void.
Humanity's beacon is dying and only a Sumerian prophecy can re-align our future.

The intercessor MUST reconnect us with the ways of the ancients, save her family from the jaws of an enemy's protection and finish a dead man's paradox.

In this dying universe, there are limitless possibilities, but is feeling a soul one of them?

Her destiny is written in the stars that she travels, but our souls rely on her finding them.

18th September 1145

The roaring wind whipped up a blizzard and transported snow around the peak of the tallest mountain in the world. Ensi worked fast for she could not see the summit. She took deep breaths and readied herself. Speed was of the essence because of the lack of oxygen, as this was her third visit in as many months. Those attempts helped her to cope with the thin air, in the extreme cold, at the highest altitudes. Few had ever reached this stage, and she was now more determined to prove the ancient writings.

After rehydrating with a few sips of water from her leather flask, she clutched her flapping cloak and pulled it downwards before retying her mask. She pulled her shoulders back, held her chin high, and with a gleam in her eye, she began to climb. Over the next few hours, she mentally retraced her steps but this time spotted a smooth layer of snow ahead. She carefully approached it, finding herself standing on a slim ledge. Although Ensi’s body ached from the strenuous climb, she smiled.

Crisp, clean air stung her face, but she kept moving. She cleared her goggles of falling snow and edged a few steps forward, trying hard to keep her balance and ignoring her aches and pains. Her foot slipped and her arms immediately extended to balance herself. Crouching on the ledge, she swayed a little in the wind. Her heart pounded inside her chest, drowning out the sound of the wind and snow.

Without a lifeline to safeguard her safety, she looked down and spied the top of a cloud which concealed the village far below. Although her hold weakened, she managed to steady herself. She shuffled a little, and there it was, exactly as she had read, wondering if she had found the elusive doorway to another world. The air changed from one extreme to the other. Her face glowed, not only because of her success but from experiencing glorious heat. The snow on her face melted and mixed with her tears, soaking her mask.

‘Yes!’ she cried, thrusting her arms into the air. Echoes from the surrounding peaks repeated her triumphant shout. She removed her cloak and loosened one of her many layers as the warmth overwhelmed her. She moved further along the edge where the intense heat took her breath away.

Within seconds, an entity appeared on the ledge wearing a veil completely covering their face. Ensi gasped and stared in disbelief as the entity’s arm raised towards her. Motionless, she held her breath. Her mind raced and her chest tightened trying to process what was happening.

His hand touched one of her shoulders, and they both vanished.
